For an insurer to establish adequate coverage for your antique or classic vehicle appraisal, they need a thorough auto appraisal report to support its current condition and develop its current value.
With that Report, you can purchase an endorsement for your automobile policy. This will determine not only how much you will be paid in the event you have a claim but how much premium you will pay to insure the vehicle and fully protect your investment.
These endorsements are called OPCF 19 or OPCF 19A
The OPCF 19 will pay up to the Appraised Value established by our Report. Some depreciation may apply. Here is an excerpt:
- Limitation of Amount Endorsement– This endorsement lists the maximum amount that the insurer will pay out in the event of a total loss. The insurance company will pay the appraised value, or the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of the vehicle at the time of the loss, whichever is less.
The OPCF 19A will guarantee you get paid 100% the Appraised Value, with no depreciation applied. Here is an excerpt:
- Agreed Value of Automobile Endorsement– This endorsement guarantees the Cash Value the insurance pays out in the event of a total loss.

- Document the identification, options, mileage, equipment and overall condition. Any aftermarket upgrades, customizing or reconditioning will be noted. We will also include any documentation you can provide to establish a “provenance.”
- Take numerous digital photos and include them in our report.
- Perform extensive market research including, but not limited to, Hemmings Motor News, Old Cars Price Guide, car dealers, automotive trade publications, as well as several auto market related websites.
- Report our appraised value, accepted by Ontario Insurance Companies for the purpose of adding the OPCF 19 or 19A endorsement to your policy
- Email a complete report with supporting photos to your insurer or broker and send a copy to you as well for your records.
